SAIC’s cost-of-service and rate design study for Austin Energy incorporates industry best practices grounded in conservation and energy efficiency principles. It’s backed by SAIC’s expertise in economic analysis, utility rate design, and the public involvement process.
Austin Energy last reviewed its rates in 1994, so in its current review, SAIC helped the utility identify many needed updates to the electric rate structure. These updates will allow the utility to continue to successfully provide clean, affordable, reliable electricity and excellent customer service. SAIC is also facilitating an extensive stakeholder outreach and collaboration process that involves public advisory committees, and communications tools to forge support for the new rate structure and provide a forum for the public to incorporate their requirements into the project plan.
